About
The European H2020 project SOTERIA (Safe lOng-TERm operation of light water reactors based on Improved understanding of radiation effects in nuclear structural mAterials) will be holding a training school to preserve and transfer the knowledge in this research area.
Aim
The training school is mainly addressed to students, post-docs and early career professionals who want to improve their understanding of reactor pressure vessel and internals materials degradation mechanisms, but it is open to any scientist or engineer working on this area. The training school is a tool for supporting the education of early career specialists who will be involved in the safe long term operation of existing nuclear power plants and in the implementation of the new generation of reactors. Furthermore, this event will facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the two research communities involved in SOTERIA: experimental research and modelling.
Topics & Programme
Presentations will be organised in three sections:
Lectures will be given by experienced researchers directly involved in SOTERIA and will range from the basics to the more specific issues addressed in the project. Interactive sessions with hands-on demonstration of the SOTERIA modelling platform will be part of the training programme.
English is the official language of the training school.
