About
The European H2020 project SOTERIA (Safe lOng-TERm operation of light water reactors based on Improved understanding of radiation effects in nuclear structural mAterials) will hold a workshop coinciding with the NUGENIA Annual Forum & Nuclear Days 2018.
Aim
The objective of the workshop is to disseminate the project preliminary results and work progress among the nuclear research and industrial communities, as well as to identify future research needs. The workshop will serve as a forum for regulators, user groups, experts and industry, allowing them to share information and expertise on radiation effects on nuclear power plant components.
Topics & Programme
Presentations will be organised around the following technical topics:
- Reactor pressure vessels (RPV) microstructure
- Uncertainties in determination of RPV fracture toughness
- Internals microstructure
- Environmental effects on IASCC susceptibility of internals
- Multiscale modelling tools
To cover these topics, the programme of the workshop will offer talks from academic and industrial speakers, as well as a poster session. The posters will be upon invitation by the organisers.
Joint Session
A joint technical session - with the objective of exchanging information, building collaborations and enhancing synergies with other NUGENIA projects - will also be organised as part of the workshop. During this session, presentations by the different projects will be followed by a round table discussion.

Registration
For logistical reasons, registration to the SOTERIA workshop is mandatory and the number of participants is limited. Attendees will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: Registration to the SOTERIA workshop does NOT include participation in the NUGENIA Annual Forum & Nuclear Days 2018. To participate in the NUGENIA Forum and benefit from all the technical sessions and parallel activities offered in the frame of the NUGENIA Forum, SOTERIA workshop participants are invited to register separately to the NUGENIA event. Fees
Participation in the SOTERIA workshop and coffee breaks are free of charge.
Expenses for transport and accommodation have to be covered by the participants.
